Important Update: Your DOC Award Will Use eRA Starting October 1, 2026
NIST is excited to announce the official launch of eRA (Electronic Research Administration), a new grants enterprise management system. Effective October 1, 2026, all award recipients, including grants, cooperative agreements, and other transaction agreements, will be required to use eRA to perform applicant and recipient activities. The impacted Department of Commerce (DOC) Bureaus include:
- National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
- National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA)
- U.S. Census Bureau
Your involvement is key to a smooth migration. Please review the attached newsletter regarding our progress to stay informed and prepared. Future communications will come from the GEMS PMO team ([email protected]). We recommend saving the email or create an email rule, so you never miss a communication. The GEMS Program mailbox does not respond to messages.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work through this transition together.
