Claude, developed by Anthropic, is a powerful AI assistant designed for advanced reasoning, document analysis, content generation, and coding support. For NU-RES administrators, Claude can be especially valuable in streamlining research administration workflows — such as reviewing proposal documents, summarizing complex guidelines, drafting communications, and supporting data analysis tasks.

Through Claude for Education, faculty, staff, and students at Northeastern University have access to enterprise-level capabilities using their university accounts, enabling secure and efficient use of AI in day-to-day research administration activities.

Microsoft Copilot Chat is available through Northeastern’s Microsoft 365 license and provides NU-RES administrators with a secure, AI-powered assistant to support daily research administration tasks. It can draw insights from the web and reference uploaded files and documents to help streamline work.

For NU-RES teams, Copilot Chat can be used to draft and refine communications, summarize complex sponsor guidelines, extract key information from proposals, translate content, and support reporting and documentation. Integrated within the Microsoft 365 environment, it enables efficient, compliant, and collaborative workflows across pre- and post-award processes.

Microsoft 365 Copilot Premium brings Copilot directly into Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other Microsoft 365 apps, and lets you build custom agents that support specific goals and repeatable processes. Powered by Work IQ, Copilot can draw on relevant meetings, emails, chats, and files to provide more context-aware answers.

For NU-RES teams, Premium extends Copilot beyond chat into everyday work — surfacing information faster across Microsoft 365 and automating routine tasks. Faculty and staff can request an upgrade through the Northeastern Tech Service Portal.

For NU-RES teams, Gamma can be used to quickly turn notes, proposal summaries, or reports into polished, presentation-ready content — using Northeastern-branded templates and exporting to PowerPoint or PDF for easy sharing across the team.
