Is there a place on ePAWs 2.0 where you can see all of the information requests that are to you, not just by, not just within an award or a transaction?
All of the information requests can be seen on user dashboard.
Can zip files be uploaded?
You can’t upload any executable files, as required by OIS.
Is there an opportunity for IRB/IACUC requests to go to the respective offices at NU as soon as the JIT is initiated?
It is not automatic, but the reviewer can alert the IRB through a consult with that group.
What’s the process going to be if I don’t have access to parts of the application that I need?
You can request the role; the Help Center is available for any additional assistance.
Are users able to just save a transaction as a draft and then go back to it later?
It assigns the transaction number, so it creates the actual transaction and, yes, you can come back to it.
Once the proposal is completed and moves to an award – will we be able to see the record and all the associated records?
Yes, you can see related records in the related records tab.
Is the detail budget meant to replace the RA budget worksheet used for proposal and banner set-up? Or are we providing both in the ePAWS record?
The detailed budget tool is designed to replace the excel budget; it collects reportable data which has in the past only existed in shadow systems.
Is the ePAWS budget tool always optional? When would you utilize this feature versus uploading excel file?
It is, but if you use the detail budget, much of the info is prepopulated to proposals and can be used if a rebudget is required.
Will the cost share approval be built in the ePAWs process?
Yes, as part of the review/approval route.
What fields are searched when entering information into the generic “Search” bar?
ePAWs 2.0 has several Search fields (Proposal, Award, Transaction, Ad-Hoc). Within each search page, there is a common “Search” bar where you can perform a search of multiple fields. The fields that are searchable from the generic “Search” bar on the different pages include the following:

  1. Proposal/award record number (stage letters -P-, -AP-, -A- are ignored)
  2. Linked transaction number
  3. Proposal title / short title or part of a title
  4. Lead PI
  5. Funding Agency
  6. Prime Source of Funding
  7. Major goals from proposal and Award Acceptance Requests a.k.a. Narrative
  8. Keywords
  9. Comments from proposal, Award Acceptance Requests, Notebook
  10. FOA number
  11. Funding Agency Grant Number
  12. Prime Source of Funding Grant Number
  13. ePAWs 1.0 Proposal legacy number
  14. Institute Proposal legacy Number
